September s'cream is FINALLY here!

Sorry to keep you waiting ... it's been a real challenge this month due to a serious ORGANIC CREAM drought in Calgary. We've been scurrying around town on a never-ending treasure hunt trying to collect every available drop of the sweet sweet nectar to use in our and your ORGANIC ice cream. Because it matters to us. Does it matter to you too? We'd love to hear your thoughts! While you're pondering ... we hope you enjoy the Back To School  flavours this month. Even if you're not going back to school ... doesn't September and fall always remind you of that day when the summer officially ends and the new year begins? So have a PB&J and follow it up with some Beer and Chocolate Bars and lets get this term off to a good start!

PB&J ... it tastes like the perfect sandwich now banned at schools everywhere! (Organic peanut butter, organic milk, organic cream, organic sugar, organic vanilla, organic Crofter's Concord Grape Jelly, organic agave syrup).

BEER AND CHOCOLATE BARS .. a bittersweet chocolate SORBET with undertones of coffee and Porter beer. (Brew Dog Alice Porter, Green & Black dark and milk chocolate and cocoa, organic sugar, Kicking Horse Coffee, water.)

Beat the Heat With Some Cool Flavors

CARAMEL is Salted Butter Caramel ... It's really so simple and so delicious! I served this at the market one day and it sold out really quickly! I thought you guys should get some too! It's organic milk, cream, eggs, butter, sugar and sea salt! The whole is definitely better than the sum of its parts!

WATERMELON MAN is Watermelon Margarita Sorbet ... I know we're called ICE CREAM anarchy ... but this sorbet is worth the deviation from the dairy .. I promise you! It's so refreshing and bursting with summer flavours .. and more than a wee bit of tequila too!

It’s July. The berries are everywhere and they’re in your ice cream!

LOOK GOOD IN BLUE is luscious fresh BC blueberry ice cream swirled with tart organic lemon ice cream. The tangy lemon is perfectly offset by the rich blueberry. A match made in July!

STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER is organic strawberry and sour cream ice cream with chunks of chewy chocolate brownie lurking within.

HILLHURST FARMER’S MARKET! It was so much fun scooping up the goodness and pushing the push pops every Wednesday in July. It was great to meet so many ice cream lovers and watch their faces light up with that perfect first bite. Here are some pictures of what we dished up!

It’s June. Summer’s long awaited arrival and Father’s Day

THOSE LAZY HAZY CRAZY DAYS OF SUMMER (those days of soda and PRETZELS AND BEER) is Wild Rose Brewery’s Crude Oatmeal Stout ice cream with a swirl of bourbon caramel and some chocolate covered pretzels thrown in just because. RHUBARB is tangy and only slightly sweet creamy rhubarb ice cream with some icy cool rhubarb Riesling jam lurking within. Rhubarb is kinda like summer in Calgary … fleeting and never on time but luscious and so appreciated once it arrives. If it only it went on forever like this song! Roasted Bananas with plenty of Rum … to make it better. I was too young to have come by the Monkees on my own, I guess I have to thank my older sister Karen or my (badass) babysitter Phylis … but I was hooked and in love and swooney …if that’s a word. I remember practicing the harmonies in this with my sister endlessly … stealing my mother’s lipstick and covering Davy Jones’ picture with red kisses …. I think they were the first band that woke me up to how music makes you feel more alive!
